Educational Visits
As a school we firmly believe in the educational value that learning outside the classroom brings. There is an abundance of evidence to suggest that educational visits can greatly enhance the learning experience for pupils. On a practical level, I am sure we are all aware of how a trip abroad can ignite a desire to learn a language or how a sporting opportunity can develop into a lifelong passion.
Annual trips are planned out and parents, guardians and carers will be aware of the expectations that pupils may want to attend particular places in particular years. We have now developed these ‘traditions’ and it is therefore important for us to map out proposed residential educational visits and communicate them to you. As a school, we are then able to carefully plan the curriculum around them and maximise their impact. It also allows us to communicate our plans to our parents, guardians and carers.
The dates and prices contained within the attached plan are all approximate and there may be occasions outside of our control where they increase, although we would try to keep this to a minimum.
The school receives additional funding for pupils who are currently, or have been in the last six years, entitled to free school meals. Some of this grant can be used to support the funding of these proposed residential visits. If you would like to discuss this, please contact the school for more information.
